Itanagar, May 9:

In a major success against mobile theft and cyber-enabled crimes, the Niti Vihar Police successfully tracked and recovered 48 lost and stolen mobile phones within a span of just 60 days using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.

The recovered devices were formally handed over to their rightful owners at the Niti Vihar Police Station during a public interaction programme, reflecting the growing technological capabilities and proactive policing efforts of the force.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Itanagar Shri Chera Saban, with Inspector Takhe Tasso and the entire Niti Vihar Police team playing a key role in tracing the devices through digital tracking mechanisms and coordinated investigation efforts.
