Likabali, February 19, 2026:
On the eve of Arunachal Pradesh’s 40th Statehood Day, the District Administration of Lower Siang successfully organised the “Run for Girl Child – Mini Marathon” under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative at Likabali. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from residents across the district, reflecting strong community support for the cause.
Shri Gothombu Dajangju, SP Lower Siang, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Shri Tajum Ronya, AC Likabali; Dr. Senpe Taipodia, DANO; Shri Monya Dini, Nodal Officer, along with other officials and dignitaries.
The mini marathon featured multiple categories, including Boys, Girls, Men, and Women, and remained open to participants from various villages and institutions. The event aimed to promote awareness on the importance of protecting and empowering the girl child through education and equal opportunities.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest emphasised the need for collective community efforts to support girls’ education and welfare. He also appreciated the initiatives taken by the District Administration and the Department of Women & Child Development for organising a meaningful awareness programme.
