CM Khandu Marks Nyokum Golden Jubilee in Bameng, Unveils ₹67 Crore Development Initiatives



Bameng, February 24, 2026:

Chief Minister Pema Khandu attended the 50th Golden Jubilee celebration of Nyokum in Bameng constituency, where leaders and residents gathered to mark the cultural milestone. The Chief Minister highlighted the festival’s deep connection with nature, unity, and the traditions of the people.



The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Home Minister Mama Natung, MLA Kumar Waii, Minister Ojing Tasing, Tasso Hinda, Managing Director of PH Construction, along with other officials and community leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Khandu announced development projects worth ₹67 crore for Bameng, describing them as a concrete step toward strengthening infrastructure and accelerating growth in the constituency. He stated that the Golden Jubilee should mark a new beginning, urging collective efforts to build a stronger and self-reliant Bameng.

Army Provides Computers, UPS and Interactive Panel to Dibang Valley Schools

  


Anini, February 19, 2026: 

Under OpSadbhavana, the Dao Division and Spear Head Division of Spear Corps strengthened educational infrastructure in Dibang Valley district by providing digital learning resources to local schools.

Officials informed that Anini Secondary School received computers along with Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to improve classroom technology and ensure uninterrupted learning. Meanwhile, Government Residential School, Papikrung, was equipped with books and an interactive panel aimed at promoting modern teaching methods and enhancing student engagement.

The initiative is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing civic outreach programme focused on improving education, encouraging digital literacy, and expanding opportunities for students in remote areas.

CM Pema Khandu Felicitates Tawang’s Akbari Khatoon for National Gold at WPC Powerlifting Championship 2026



Tawang, February 18, 2026:

Chief Minister Pema Khandu met and congratulated Ms Akbari Khatoon from Tawang district for winning the National Gold Medal in the 56 kg category at the WPC National Powerlifting Championship 2026 held in Noida. Born and brought up in Tawang and fluent in Monpa, Khatoon secured the top podium finish with impressive lifts, 110 kg in squat, 42.5 kg in bench press, and 117.5 kg in deadlift.

The Chief Minister praised her dedication and perseverance, noting her journey from District Champion to State Strong Woman and now National Champion as an inspiration for aspiring athletes across Arunachal Pradesh. Her victory has also earned her the opportunity to represent India at the international level, bringing pride to the state and highlighting the growing strength of sports talent from the region.

CM Pema Khandu Inaugurates New Administrative Block at Sera Jey Monastery in Tawang




Tawang, February 13, 2026: 

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated the new Administrative Block of Sera Jey Jamyang Choekhorling Monastery in Tawang in the presence of Venerable Geshe Lobsang Norbu la, Chief Administrator of Sera Jey Monastery, Karnataka, His Eminence Dolhe Rinpoche Tenzin Kunkhyen la, Abbot of the monastery, and other dignitaries.

The newly developed infrastructure is expected to significantly enhance administrative efficiency, improve residential facilities, and strengthen the learning environment for monks and students. The initiative marks a step forward in supporting monastic education and preserving the region’s spiritual heritage.

On the occasion, the State Bank of India, Tawang Branch, donated a school bus to the monastery, an initiative welcomed by attendees as a meaningful contribution toward the welfare and mobility of children associated with the institution.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted that monasteries continue to serve as living centres of culture, discipline, learning, and compassion, emphasizing that supporting such institutions remains a shared responsibility of society.
