In a significant milestone toward resolving a decades-old boundary issue, the boundary pillar erection process formally commenced today between Arunachal Pradesh’s Pakke Kessang district and Assam’s Biswanath district for the first time.
The historic exercise is being carried out with the joint participation of officials from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, along with representatives of the Central Government from the Survey of India.
The development follows the landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed to amicably resolve the long-pending inter-state border dispute, marking a crucial step toward its on-ground implementation.
