The authorities and students’ union of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), Itanagar, have appealed to the caretaker President of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU), Shri Dozi Tana Tara, and the AAPSU Election Committee not to hold the AAPSU General Conference-cum-Election 2026 on the college campus, citing concerns over disruption of academic activities during the peak academic session.
Meeting and decision
The decision was taken during a meeting held on 6 February in the Principal’s office at DNGC, attended by the college administration, faculty representatives, hostel wardens, members of the College Development Committee, and the Campus Security In-charge.
After deliberations, it was unanimously resolved to request the identification of an alternative venue for the event. Following this decision, the General Secretary of the DNGC Students’ Union and the Principal have separately written to the Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar, seeking consideration of their grievances.
Background of venue approval
Earlier, on 5 February, the Deputy Commissioner of the Capital Complex had granted permission to hold the 27th AAPSU General Conference-cum-Election at Jubilee Hall, DNGC, Itanagar, from 17 to 23 February 2026.
