Khonsa, March 15, 2026:
The Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a humanitarian outreach programme for the distribution of artificial limbs under Operation Sadbhavana on 15 March 2026 at Khonsa in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The initiative was undertaken with the objective of assisting specially-abled individuals suffering from physical disabilities by improving their mobility and enabling them to lead a more independent and dignified life. Beneficiaries from Tirap and Longding districts were identified in coordination with local authorities and community representatives to ensure that those in genuine need received timely assistance.
During the programme, artificial limbs were distributed to the identified beneficiaries, providing them with renewed hope and support to carry out their daily activities more effectively. The recipients expressed happiness and gratitude for the assistance, stating that the support would significantly help them in their daily lives.

Operation Sadbhavana is a civic action initiative undertaken by the Assam Rifles to strengthen bonds with local communities and contribute to social welfare and development in remote and border areas of the Northeast. Through this initiative, the force regularly organises various programmes such as medical camps, distribution of essential items, educational support activities and skill development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of local residents.
The event witnessed the participation of local residents and community representatives, who appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles in supporting the welfare of people in the region. Beneficiaries and their family members expressed heartfelt gratitude to the force for the humanitarian gesture and for their continued commitment towards the well-being of communities in Tirap and Longding districts.
