Marking another important milestone in strengthening urban sanitation, Minister for Urban Affairs, Land Management & Civil Aviation, Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Balo Raja, flagged off new IMC sanitation vehicles from the IMC office at Chimpu on Thursday to enhance the city’s cleanliness and waste management efforts.
The flag-off programme was held in the presence of Mayor Smti. Likha Nari Tadar, Deputy Mayor Shri Tok Tabin Camdir, corporators, the IMC Commissioner, and officials, reaffirming their commitment to improved sanitation and public health in the capital.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Mayor Tok Tabin Camdir stated that the vehicles flagged off today represent the first phase, as the IMC is expected to receive more sanitation trucks in the coming days. He informed that the vehicles launched in the first phase will be deployed in areas requiring urgent attention based on existing conditions, while additional vehicles arriving later will be allocated across wards to ensure easier accessibility and improved service delivery.

The initiative aims to boost the efficiency of waste collection, improve cleanliness across Itanagar, and ensure a healthier and more sustainable urban environment for citizens. Officials added that the addition of new sanitation trucks will further strengthen ongoing efforts to maintain better civic hygiene in the city.
