Chongkham, March 16, 2026:
A new Police Duty Post was inaugurated at Momong under Chongkham Circle in Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai district on Sunday, March 16, 2026, in a move aimed at strengthening policing and improving public safety in the area.
The duty post was jointly inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Namsai, C.R. Khampa, Superintendent of Police Sange Thinley, and District Planning Officer Dr. Keshab Sharma. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several officials including Circle Officer of Chongkham Kenge Loya, DySP (HQ) Namsai, Officer-in-Charge of Chongkham Police Station, and other members of the Chongkham police team.
According to officials, the establishment of the police duty post will significantly enhance ground-level policing in the region. The facility will enable regular naka checking, better monitoring of law and order situations, and stricter checks on illegal activities and suspicious movements in and around the area.

Police authorities stated that the duty post will also contribute to improving road safety by facilitating traffic monitoring and helping prevent road accidents. Additionally, it is expected to ensure quicker police response during emergencies, thereby strengthening the overall security framework in the locality.
The Namsai Police expressed gratitude to the district administration for its support and cooperation in establishing the long-needed police duty post. Officials noted that the new facility marks an important step toward strengthening policing infrastructure in the district.
Reaffirming their commitment to public safety, Namsai Police stated that they remain dedicated to maintaining law and order and making the district safer and crime-free.
