Ziro, Jan 21:

The District Administration of Lower Subansiri has ordered the unsealing of an illegal Masjid/Mosque located at Suluya, Old Ziro to allow its immediate demolition by the land owner.

According to an official order issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri District, the mosque was earlier sealed on December 29, 2025, following a complaint lodged by ST Bachao Andolan, Ziro, pending an amicable settlement.

The administration received a letter dated January 19, 2026, from the Chairman and Secretary of the Old Ziro Market Welfare Committee requesting the unsealing of the structure so that the land owner, Shri Rubu Tapa, could demolish the mosque at his own expense.

Acting on the request, the Circle Officer, Ziro, has been directed to unlock the sealed mosque at Suluya with immediate effect to facilitate demolition of the structure by the land owner.
