Chowna Mein Honoured with Brahmaputra Gaurav Samman

 

New Delhi, April 12:

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has been conferred the prestigious Brahmaputra Gaurav Samman at a national-level ceremony held in New Delhi.

The award was presented by the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, during the silver jubilee celebrations of the Indigenous Tribal Intermediate Training Institute (ITITI) at Doon Sanskriti School, Dehradun. The event took place at Bharat Mandapam and witnessed the presence of dignitaries and representatives from across the country.

The Brahmaputra Gaurav Samman is a prestigious national-level award dedicated to honouring individuals who have made exceptional contributions towards preserving and promoting the indigenous heritage of Northeast India. It recognises efforts aimed at safeguarding tribal faiths, languages, and cultural traditions, while also encouraging a balanced approach to modern development. The award serves as a platform to highlight the resilient spirit of the region and is often presented at high-profile national events such as the ITITI silver jubilee celebrations.


Expressing gratitude, Mein said he felt deeply honoured and humbled to receive the recognition. He stated that the award is not merely a personal achievement but a tribute to the resilient and vibrant tribal communities of Arunachal Pradesh. He highlighted that their rich heritage, wisdom, and enduring values continue to inspire generations.

Dedicating the honour to the people of the state, Mein acknowledged the efforts of individuals and communities working tirelessly to preserve indigenous faith, culture, and languages. He emphasised the importance of maintaining cultural identity while embracing opportunities for growth and development.

Reaffirming his commitment, Mein stated that Arunachal Pradesh will continue to pursue a path where progress strengthens cultural roots, empowers the youth, and safeguards the unique identity of its tribal communities.
