Namsai, March 21:
Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh has achieved the top position in the “Financial Inclusion and Skill Development” category under the NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts Programme, earning an incentive of ₹3 crore. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Friday.
Sharing the update on social media, Mein highlighted that the recognition reflects the district’s focused and coordinated efforts aligned with national development priorities. He noted that the award is a testament to the progress made in strengthening financial access and enhancing skill-based initiatives at the grassroots level.
The Deputy Chief Minister credited the achievement to the collective contribution of district officials, departmental teams, frontline workers, and local residents. He emphasized that such recognition underscores the importance of collaborative governance and effective implementation of development schemes.
Mein further called for sustained efforts across Arunachal Pradesh to replicate similar success in other districts, ensuring balanced and inclusive growth throughout the state.
The Aspirational Districts Programme, launched in 2018 by NITI Aayog, aims to transform underdeveloped districts by improving key indicators across sectors such as health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, financial inclusion, and skill development. The programme follows a data-driven approach and promotes competitive performance among districts, with top achievers receiving financial incentives to strengthen service delivery.
