Pasighat, February 27, 2026:
Pasighat Police achieved a significant breakthrough in ongoing motor vehicle theft investigations with the recovery of five stolen two-wheelers from different locations across the district. The recovered vehicles are estimated to be worth approximately ₹6.5 lakh.
During the operation, police arrested one accused, identified as Kendo Yomso (28), son of Late Nangkong Yomso and a resident of Ngopok village in East Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh.
According to police sources, the recovery and arrest were carried out following sustained investigation and coordinated field operations. A team led by Inspector Dujom Bagra, Officer-in-Charge of Pasighat Police Station, conducted the operation along with SI J. Tasung, SI K. Tangha, and ASI R. Lowang. The operation was supervised by SDPO Pasighat, Dr. Akanksha.
The stolen two-wheelers were recovered from multiple locations within the district. Police stated that further investigation is underway.
In connection with the case, two separate cases have been registered at Pasighat Police Station:
PSGT/PS/C/No. 113/25 under Section 303(2) BNS
PSGT/PS/C/No. 18/26 under Section 303(2) BNS
Police have informed that further investigation is underway to determine whether additional individuals were involved in the thefts and to recover any remaining stolen property.
Vehicle theft has emerged as a growing concern in several urban and semi-urban areas, often causing financial loss and inconvenience to residents. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to strengthening surveillance and patrolling to prevent such crimes.
Pasighat Police have also urged citizens to remain vigilant and ensure proper verification of vehicle documents before purchasing second-hand vehicles. Residents have been advised to promptly report suspicious activities to local authorities.
The successful recovery of the stolen vehicles reflects continued efforts by district police to curb property-related crimes and maintain public safety. Officials emphasized that strict action will be taken against those found involved in criminal activities.
