Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organization (APIYO) on Thursday visited a hotel in Itanagar after concerns were raised over a signboard displayed outside the premises. The signboard, bearing the name “Bismillah Beef Hotel” along with a symbol resembling the Pakistani flag and an Islamic emblem, drew objections from sections of the local community.

During the visit, the APIYO team called the owner of the building, who cooperated fully with the organization. Acknowledging the concerns, the owner agreed to remove the signboard to avoid hurting public sentiments.

APIYO stated that while Arunachal Pradesh is known for its peaceful coexistence and cultural diversity, businesses, whether run by locals or outsiders, must remain sensitive to the traditions, identity, and sentiments of the indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh.

The organization appealed to all traders and business establishments operating in the state to refrain from using names, symbols, or imagery that could be perceived as disrespectful or provocative, and to uphold mutual respect and harmony in the interest of social unity.
