Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday unveiled BOGUM LWWNV, the statue of Ato Bogum, a legendary descendant of Abo Tani, at Likabali.
The unveiling ceremony marked a moment of pride and reverence for the Galo community, for whom Ato Bogum remains a towering figure in collective memory, symbolising bravery, wisdom, strength, and leadership. It is from Ato Bogum that 34 clans of the Galo tribe trace their lineage, carrying forward his legacy through generations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the statue is not merely a monument, but a powerful reminder of the rich indigenous heritage, values, and ancestral wisdom that continue to guide society. He noted that preserving such cultural symbols is essential for strengthening identity and inspiring younger generations.
BOGUM LWWNV is envisioned as an enduring symbol of Galo heritage, honouring a legendary ancestor whose spirit and ideals continue to unite and guide his descendants with pride and reverence.
