SP West Kameng Inspects Bhalukpong Checkgate, Warns Against Illegal Activities

 


West Kameng, May 18:

In a move aimed at strengthening vigilance and ensuring strict enforcement at the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, Superintendent of Police (SP) West Kameng, Dr. D.W. Thongon, conducted an inspection of the inter-state checkgate at Bhalukpong on Monday.

The inspection was carried out in the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Bhalukpong, Shri Mayank Dubey, IPS, and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of PS Bhalukpong, Inspector Tsering Dorjee.

During the visit, the senior officers reviewed the functioning and security arrangements at the checkgate and interacted with police personnel deployed at the site. The personnel were instructed to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity, dedication, and alertness to ensure effective monitoring of movement through the inter-state entry point.

SP Dr. Thongon issued a stern warning that any involvement in or negligence towards illegal activities would invite the strictest disciplinary as well as legal action against the erring officials.

The officers also inspected the CCTV surveillance system installed at the checkgate. OC PS Bhalukpong was directed to ensure that all CCTV cameras remain fully operational at all times for effective surveillance and monitoring.

The inspection underscores the district police’s commitment towards maintaining law and order, strengthening border security, and preventing illegal activities in the region.
