Ziro Marks 1st Martyrdom Anniversary of Corporal Tage Hailyang

The first martyrdom anniversary of Late Corporal Tage Hailyang was solemnly observed at Dilang, Rake Lembo in Ziro, drawing a large gathering of family members, community leaders, well-wishers, and admirers who came together to pay tribute to the fallen hero.

The ceremony was marked by a deeply emotional yet dignified atmosphere, reflecting both the grief of loss and the pride in Corporal Hailyang’s supreme sacrifice in service of the nation. Attendees offered prayers, shared memories, and honoured his legacy through collective remembrance.

Hapoli constituency MLA Hage Appa, who attended the programme, described the occasion as more than a remembrance. He emphasized that such moments serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the nation’s bravehearts and the responsibility of citizens to uphold their legacy through service and unity. He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, stating that Corporal Hailyang’s sacrifice would forever be remembered with pride and gratitude.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu also paid tribute, recalling the broader significance of the day in connection with the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. In his message, he honoured the innocent lives lost and highlighted how their memories remain etched in the nation’s conscience.

Paying homage to Corporal Tage Hailyang, the Chief Minister described him as a courageous son of Arunachal Pradesh whose bravery and ultimate sacrifice embody the highest ideals of the nation. He reaffirmed that the country remains indebted to its fallen heroes and must continue to honour their legacy.

The observance concluded with a strong message of unity and resilience, as speakers reiterated that acts of terror can never weaken the nation’s resolve or hinder its progress.
