Gensi, April 5:
Education Minister Passang Dorjee Sona on Sunday inaugurated the Golden Jubilee Model School building at the Government Higher Secondary School in Gensi, located in Lower Siang district, marking a significant step toward strengthening educational infrastructure in the region.
The programme was also attended by Kardo Nyicyor, Deputy Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and MLA from Likabali, along with other dignitaries, education officials, community leaders, and members of the public, reflecting strong local participation and support.
Sona is currently in Gensi to participate in the Mopin Festival, where he joined the community in celebrating one of the most prominent cultural festivals of the Galo community. The festival, known for its vibrant rituals, traditional attire, and spirit of unity, added a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister described the newly constructed campus as one of the finest government school infrastructures in the region. He stated that the facility has been developed with the objective of providing students access to a modern, safe, and inspiring learning environment equipped with improved amenities.

He emphasized that infrastructure development plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of education and overall student experience. According to him, well-equipped schools not only improve academic outcomes but also motivate students to pursue their goals with greater confidence.
Highlighting the government’s continued focus on the education sector, Sona noted that such initiatives reflect a broader commitment to bridging gaps in educational facilities across Arunachal Pradesh. He added that the government is actively working to ensure that students, even in remote areas, receive equal opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.
