East Kameng Marks Historic National Panchayat Day 2026 Celebration in Arunachal

East Kameng, April 24:

National Panchayat Day 2026 was celebrated with remarkable scale and enthusiasm in East Kameng district, setting a new benchmark not only for the district but across the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Organized under the theme “Atmanirbhar Panchayat Se Samriddh Bharat Tak,” the event marked a historic milestone as the first large-scale Panchayat Day celebration of its kind in the region, reflecting a strong commitment toward grassroots governance and rural development.

The programme was meticulously organized by the Panchayat Department of East Kameng under the leadership of Smti. Pai Pizi Yangfo, Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) of 03-East Kameng and Organising Chairman. The event witnessed the collective efforts of all 13 Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs), Panchayat staff, and Block Offices, whose coordinated planning and execution ensured a vibrant and well-managed celebration. The dignitaries and guests were warmly received by the ADC Seppa-cum-DPDO, East Kameng, setting a welcoming and dignified tone for the proceedings.

The celebration was graced by Dasanglu Pul, Hon’ble Minister for Women & Child Development, Cultural Affairs, and Science & Technology, who attended as the Chief Guest. Tagru Kasha, ZPC Kra Dadi, attended as the Guest of Honour. The event also saw the presence of several distinguished invitees including Mrs. Biri Santi, Shri Meje Degio, Shri Tsering Nimasow, Shri Kalley Rijuju, and Shri Rup Techi, further elevating the stature of the occasion.

The programme was guided by Mama Natung, Hon’ble Minister for Border Affairs, ISBA, PHE & Water Supply, and Department of Indigenous Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, who served as the Chief Patron. Support was extended by Ealing Tallang, Hon’ble MLA of 10-Seppa East Assembly Constituency, who acted as Patron of the event.

In her address, Chief Guest Dasanglu Pul commended the dedication and enthusiasm of the organizing team and emphasized the critical importance of effective implementation of Panchayat and rural development schemes at the grassroots level. Drawing from her experience, she encouraged local leaders and officials to continue working collectively to strengthen rural governance systems. Guest of Honour Tagru Kasha appreciated the scale and coordination of the programme, noting that such initiatives set a strong example for other districts to follow.

Chief Patron Mama Natung lauded the collective efforts of Panchayat representatives and administrative officials, highlighting the significance of unity and proactive governance in achieving developmental goals. Patron Ealing Tallang also expressed admiration for the team’s commitment and urged continued focus on delivering tangible outcomes through grassroots initiatives.

Organising Chairman Pai Pizi Yangfo extended heartfelt gratitude to all contributors, acknowledging that despite financial constraints, the event was successfully executed through teamwork, dedication, and a shared vision of empowering Panchayati Raj institutions. She emphasized that the celebration was not only about commemorating the day but also about reinforcing the spirit of collaboration and accountability at the grassroots level.

The event witnessed extensive participation from administrative officers, Heads of Departments, Panchayat leaders, and staff members, making it one of the most widely attended Panchayat Day celebrations in the state. The scale, coordination, and impact of the programme received widespread appreciation from attendees and observers alike.

The programme concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by the AC Seppa-cum-DD (RD), East Kameng, who expressed sincere appreciation to all dignitaries, officials, and participants for their invaluable contributions in making the event a grand success.
