Ojing Tasing Flags Off E-Rickshaws in Pasighat

 

Pasighat, March 22:

Minister Ojing Tasing on Sunday flagged off a fleet of e-rickshaws under the Innovative & Economic Development / Income Enhancement Project (Gram Bandhu) of the Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) at Pasighat. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from the concerned Gram Panchayats.

The programme witnessed the presence of Advisor HPD Ninong Ering, MLAs Er. Tapi Darang and Oken Tayeng, Director of Panchayati Raj Tajing Jonnom, Deputy Commissioner of East Siang Sonalika Jiwani, Superintendent of Police Pankaj Lamba, ZPC East Siang Ruth Tabing Boko, DPDO Pebika Lego, along with department officials, PRI representatives, and SHG members.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Tasing highlighted that the initiative reflects a practical and grassroots-focused approach to rural empowerment. He emphasized that the e-rickshaws are not merely a mode of transport but serve as a means of livelihood for SHGs and local entrepreneurs.

The e-rickshaws are expected to support the transportation and marketing of organic produce and indigenous village products, enabling rural communities to access markets more efficiently. The eco-friendly nature of the vehicles also aligns with the broader goal of promoting sustainable and responsible development.

The initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening local economies, enhancing income opportunities, and empowering grassroots communities while fostering a resilient rural ecosystem.
