Kurung Kumey District Handbook, PLP 2026–27 Launched

In a significant initiative aimed at strengthening administrative awareness and advancing structured development planning, the District Handbook for Kurung Kumey along with the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) for the financial year 2026–27 was formally launched by Deputy Commissioner Shri Cheechung Chukhu at Koloriang on Tuesday.

The District Handbook, prepared in coordination with the District Information and Public Relations Office (DIPRO), Kurung Kumey, presents a detailed and well-documented profile of the district. It includes essential information on administrative centres, governance structure, and key public institutions, along with curated insights into prominent tourist destinations and visually rich representations of the district’s cultural heritage.

The publication highlights Kurung Kumey’s vibrant traditions, indigenous lifestyle, and diverse cultural practices, while also showcasing its scenic landscapes and unexplored tourism potential. Officials stated that the handbook has been designed not only as an informative document but also as a promotional tool to enhance the district’s visibility at the state and national levels.

Emphasizing its utility, the administration noted that the handbook will serve as a valuable reference for government officials, policymakers, visiting dignitaries, researchers, and tourists seeking a deeper understanding of the district. It is also expected to assist in improving coordination among departments by providing a consolidated source of district-specific information.

Meanwhile, the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) for 2026–27 was also unveiled during the programme, marking an important step toward strengthening the district’s financial planning framework. The PLP outlines sector-wise credit potential and aims to facilitate better access to institutional finance, thereby supporting economic activities, entrepreneurship, and livelihood generation across Kurung Kumey.

The simultaneous launch of both the District Handbook and PLP reflects the district administration’s commitment to integrated development, combining cultural promotion with strategic financial planning to drive sustainable growth in Kurung Kumey.
