Boost for Archery in Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal Pradesh has been witnessing rapid growth across various sporting disciplines in recent years, with increasing participation in state and national-level competitions. Among these, archery has emerged as one of the most promising sports in the state.
With its strong traditional association with indigenous communities and growing institutional support, archery is gaining popularity among young athletes. District-level associations and Khelo India Centres have played a significant role in nurturing grassroots talent and providing structured training facilities.
The selection of seven young archers from Tawang reflects the expanding talent pool and the steady progress of the sport in the region. Officials believe that consistent exposure to national competitions will further enhance the performance standards of young athletes.
A Moment of Pride for Tawang
Expressing his pride, TDAA Vice President Tenzin Lhendup said that having all seven archers represent Arunachal Pradesh at the national level is both inspiring and a moment of great pride for the district. He described the achievement as a significant milestone for the association and highlighted the growing enthusiasm for archery among youth in Tawang.
The development also underscores the broader momentum of sports in Arunachal Pradesh, where young athletes are increasingly stepping forward to compete at higher levels. With proper training, infrastructure, and encouragement, archery is expected to continue its upward trajectory in the state.
As the National Archery Championship approaches, the selected archers carry not only their individual aspirations but also the hopes of their district and state. Their participation marks another step forward in Arunachal Pradesh’s growing presence in national sports competitions.
