Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the newly built Seva Teerth integrated complex, marking the relocation of the Prime Minister’s Office from South Block for the first time since Independence.

Addressing officials during the event, the Prime Minister said the move reflects India’s vision of building a “Viksit Bharat” and aims to improve coordination and administrative efficiency. He noted that North Block and South Block were constructed during the British era and symbolised the governance priorities of that time.

Modi described Seva Teerth as a modern space where key national policies will be framed, adding that the earlier offices faced space constraints that affected functioning. The new complex is expected to consolidate executive operations and enhance workflow within the government.
