Two Houses Destroyed in New Seppa Fire; Response Delayed

Seppa, May 1:

A fire broke out at around 1:20 p.m. on Friday at Vikash Colony in New Seppa, under East Kameng district, completely gutting two residential houses and reducing them to ashes.

The affected houses belonged to Tasso Paffa and Maching Riang. Both homeowners were reportedly not present when the fire started. No casualties or injuries have been reported.

According to local residents, the fire brigade could not reach the spot in time due to the absence of a proper bridge connection in New Seppa town. As a result, fire personnel were forced to take a longer route, significantly delaying their response.

In the meantime, local youth and colony residents acted promptly, managing to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby houses.

Despite their efforts, the fire caused extensive damage, destroying all belongings, including household items, valuables, and important documents.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown and is yet to be ascertained by authorities.

The affected families have appealed to the public and authorities for immediate assistance and support as they cope with the loss.
