The crackdown against Inner Line Permit (ILP) violators continues in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang Valley district, where authorities detected a total of 118 ILP violators over the last five days during intensified checking drives.
According to official information, 17 non-FIR cases under Section 3 of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFR) Act were registered at Roing, Dambuk and Shantipur Police Stations against individuals found staying or working in the district without valid ILP documents.
Following legal procedures, the violators were externed from the district through the Shantipur Check Gate based on orders issued by the concerned magistrates. Authorities also imposed fines as per the existing ILP guidelines.
Officials have appealed to all outside workers, labourers and visitors entering the district to carry valid ILP documents at all times to avoid legal action.
Local guardians, employers and residents have also been urged to ensure that their visitors and workforce possess proper documents for lawful stay in the district.
The district administration and police have further requested the public to inform the respective Officers-in-Charge (OCs) of their jurisdictions regarding any suspected ILP violations or doubtful locations so that intensive checking and enforcement drives can be carried out effectively.
