Kabak Yano from Arunachal Pradesh has successfully summited Mount Aconcagua, the highest mountain peak in South America on 1st February 2026, marking a significant milestone in her ambitious Seven Summits mountaineering expedition.

With this achievement, Yano continues her quest to conquer the highest peaks on each continent, drawing national attention to her endurance, discipline, and the growing presence of Indian mountaineers on the global stage.

Earlier, Yano created history by scaling Mount Everest on May 21, 2024, becoming the first woman from the Nyishi community and the fifth woman from Arunachal Pradesh to summit the world’s highest peak.

As part of her Seven Summits campaign, she subsequently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain, and Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, firmly establishing herself as one of the region’s leading mountaineers pursuing the prestigious global challenge.
