Arunachal Para Athletics Team Leaves for 24th National Championships in Bhubaneswar

Itanagar, March 17, 2026:

The Paralympic Association of Arunachal Pradesh (PAA) has announced the departure of the state’s para athletics team for the 24th National Para Athletics Championships, set to be held from March 17 to 21, 2026, at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The Arunachal contingent comprises a total of 22 members, including 17 para athletes, two officials, and three support staff. The team will compete in a range of track and field events such as the 100m, 200m, and 400m races, along with field events including long jump, shot put, and javelin throw. Athletes will also participate in classification-based competitions as per national standards.

Organised by the Paralympic Committee of India, the championship will bring together top para athletes from across the country, offering a competitive platform to showcase talent and determination.

The participation of the Arunachal Pradesh team highlights the steady growth of para sports in the state. In recent years, focused efforts have been made to identify, train, and support Divyangjan athletes, enabling them to compete confidently at national-level events.

The PAA expressed its gratitude to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, various supporting departments, coaches, officials, and well-wishers for their continued encouragement and contribution to the development of para sports.

The association extended its best wishes to the team and expressed confidence that the athletes will deliver strong performances and bring pride to the s tate.
